Daily Pursuit

I’m totally undone. It seems that on Saturdays or any day of the week, we connect virtually with hungry believers who want more of God. I’m so blessed to be part of this family and virtual community. As we pray via IMO and WhatsApp text, you can feel the tangible presence of God take over the place. The atmosphere changes, and at times, we are left in awe and wonder about God’s majestic presence. As if that isn’t enough, you have one of our brothers and sisters cry, “All I want is you”. This is a truly profound and deeply moving experience. Here, we are not just a group of believers, but a collective who are united in our hunger for the authentic presence of God. We have willingly counted the cost and have completely surrendered to God, allowing Him to work in our hearts. When we have so many other things to distract and to call us. We surrender to the call of God and seek the Grace to die to self and the flesh life so that Christ may live and dwell in and through us. Lord, as a family, we come before you today with a deep longing for all of you. We earnestly pray that you will remove everything in our lives that could hinder love. Lord, we yearn for a mighty work in our hearts and minds, to keep us eternally minded and to keep us hungry and desperate for your presence. In Jesus mighty name we pray, Much love in Christ, Your Sister, Ruth  Pursuing Holiness TV

Spiritual Temperature

There are people in Daily Pursuit who are so hungry, very hungry, that they stir hunger in others. Who you walk with will ultimately determine your spiritual temperature. At times, we may find ourselves clinging to relationships that drain the anointing from our lives. These associations can hinder our ability to respond to the call and desire to pray, leaving us without the strength to ascend the spiritual mountain and encounter God’s glory. The people we surround ourselves with can either bolster our faith or dissuade us from its importance. For me, what is even scarier is professing Christians who are cold and embracing this life at the cost of the one to come. Don’t watch them because their lives will tell you to calm down and take it easy. It doesn’t need all that. You are punishing yourself. Hmm, that is from the pit of hell. It is crucial for us to reach a point where we can recognize and embrace the ministry of suffering. This ministry involves subduing our fleshly desires to remain and abide in the spirit. Suffering, in this context, may require us to stand alone, distancing ourselves from anything that separates us from God. Heavenly Father, I pray that you give us the Grace to break off all ungodly relationships that take us out of Your purpose and Your Will. I pray that we will cultivate a relationship with the Holy Spirit, even if it means standing alone in the mighty name of Jesus. Much love in Christ, Your Sister, Ruth  Pursuing Holiness TV

Don’t Be Moved

“Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” Hebrews 11:1 It’s easy to have faith in God when everything is going well and according to our expectations. That’s not faith; that is simply life. We embrace and enjoy what we see. As the scripture says, faith is believing the unseen, the unknown, what we dream about in relation to God’s promises that have yet to come to pass. Faith is having joy and strength in the invisible, at times, during great tension and transitions. It’s easy to have faith when you’ve got a good job, a lovely marriage, and a ministry that is growing and going according to plan. It’s another thing to have faith when there is no money in the bank, no food on the table, and no Loved one around. All too often, during times of uncertainty and doubt, we rest and start having faith in people or circumstances to see us through. We put our trust in princes. God is a jealous God who will, more often than not, use life experience to return our faith and trust in His invisible hand to make the day and see us through. I have grown up with friends I’ve known since childhood and others I’ve known along the way. My call is to love them yet trust God, our source and hope. I just wanted to encourage you not to be moved by storms or these temporary things that come to pass. But trust, put your hope in, and depend on a loving God who has the ability to remain consistent and faithful through every storm. I remember going through a battle where everything I believed in was challenged. Everyone and everything I trusted faded away. The only thing I had left was God. I held on to Him with everything I had and as time went on I realised when God is all you have, you realise in the end He is all you need. Lord I pray we keep our eyes fixed on you and your Grace to see us through. I pray that you bring us to a place we’re we yield to your promises and leading. That we love one another, while we depend and trust wholly on your strength to bring your perfect will to pass in Jesus Name. Lord give us the Grace to believe the invisible and walk in the light of your word and promises, In Jesus mighty name we pray, Much love in Christ, Your Sister, Ruth  Pursuing Holiness TV

True Transformation

Many people engage in daily reading of the word and prayer, yet their hearts remain unyielding. The journey towards becoming living flames ⠀ of God commences with a personal, intense hunger and thirst for God, surpassing all other desires. This hunger and thirst, coupled with the recognition of our profound need for God, sustains the transformation. The truth is in modern-day Christianity, we are satisfied with the form. The gatherings, the programmes. “Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.” 2 Timothy 3:5 God is beckoning His chosen ones, His children, to a place of contentment in Him alone. His word instructs us to love Him with our entire being, making His kingdom our foremost priority. “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.” Matthew 6:33 He must take first place above all other pursuits, His glory and anointing is released to the one who is totally abandoned to God alone. It’s not easy and it takes a life time of training but it is worth it. God is calling us to a place of death to self so that He can live in and through us. He doesn’t want our relationship with Him to be forms and systems. He is looking from heaven for abandoned hearts that can truly say, the reason I live is to worship you. This does not mean that we forget our jobs, families, and responsibilities; it just means that we put everything else in order, allowing God to release the grace we need to operate in each of the roles and functions He has given us in our daily lives. So yes prayer, fasting, obedience and surrender are essential for spiritual growth. Nevertheless, a hunger and thirst for him that propels our heart to seek Him single mindedly must be the essence of all our seeking. Dear Heavenly Father, help us to be single minded in our pursuit of you. Forgive us for seeking other things above you and realign us with your purpose and your will. Prayers To Die To Self

Wow, God is so faithful and so good. Yesterday was a wonder as we basked in God’s presence as a family. We prayed, we fellowshipped, and the longer we went on, the more the desire for authentic biblical Christianity rose and stirred within us. As a family, we’ve reached a point where the usual church experience no longer satisfies us. We yearn for a complete manifestation of God’s presence in our hearts and minds, preparing us for His imminent arrival. Today’s prayers are part of that preparation as we seek death to the self-life and every carnality in our lives that would separate us from the glory, power and communion with our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Lord truly, who is like you?  Much love in Christ, Your Sister, Ruth  Pursuing Holiness TV

Watch And Pray

It’s crazy we all have a series of ups and downs as we journey along the narrow way. We stumble, and we fall; when I look at my walk-in line with scripture, one thing becomes evident: I have often forgotten that Christ reminds us not just to pray but to watch. “Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.” Luke 21:36 That’s why we see ourselves returning to negative thought patterns and behaviours, partnering with the enemy instead of being the ambassadors of Christ we desire. This plays itself out in so many ways and so many dimensions; nevertheless, the pattern is always the same. A thought, an idea, an accusation against another or even about ourselves comes. These thoughts remain powerless when they are not fuelled by giving them attention, time, and energy. The more we meditate on the negative thoughts and feelings that have been sent to our hearts and minds, the more we give them power and life to possess us. It’s through reflection, meditation, thinking and thinking, going over and over it again in our hearts and minds that it gets planted and takes root in our hearts. Lack of Watchfulness It’s at this point that we lose our confidence in God, others and ourselves. This is why watchfulness is so essential because as we pray, God releases His answers and His grace; nonetheless, if we don’t guard our hearts, we then become careless through lack of watchfulness and start believing the lies and the counsel of the enemy. If we continue believing and meditating on these thoughts, we start to live them out through anger, pride and brokenness. Because unwittingly, we have given over our will and strength to another. When we fail to watch we fail to guard our hearts from the assaults of the enemy. We leave our treasure wide open for all to come in. It’s at this point that we stumble and fall. Vigilance is just as important as prayer. It is important that we watch over our hearts, thoughts and actions to ensure we keep the weeds of sin away. Tending our hearts and minds so only the seed of righteousness can flourish is so essential. Planting seeds of Righteousness God is so gracious that he gives us the grace to deliberately and consistently sow seeds of righteousness in just the same way as we sow negative seeds. We ponder on Gods word, and in the same way we do when we worry, through reflection, meditation, thinking and thinking, going over and over it again in our hearts and minds that it gets planted and takes roots in our hearts. When we by Gods grace do this with His word, we become ‘partakers in His nature’. As we watch we, Guard our hearts from temptations giving it the freedom to flourish and grow unhindered We become aware of the schemes and devices the enemy uses as a snare We learn how to be victorious as we gain experience As as we pray, We access the Graces of God We grow in intimacy and knowledge of God We are transformed into His image Lord, I pray that today as we journey on this life that you teach us not only to pray but to watch and guard our hearts. I pray that you teach us to police our minds and thoughts and help us to keep focus on your glory and grace unceasingly throughout our day as we press into your promise for our lifes, our city and our nation. Who Are You?

Galatians 6:7-9 “Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” Romans 12:1 – 2 “Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” When a person professes to be a Christian but still conforms to the world’s values, principles, and ways, they risk losing their identity as a true believer in Jesus. This is a common struggle, and it is important to remember that we are called to exhibit Christ’s holiness and righteousness in our lives, declaring and displaying God’s excellencies by being conformed to His image and character. For most professing Christians nowadays, Christianity has deteriorated into a name, a label and a temporary craze that serves its purpose for his self-centred needs. But God is not mocked; God knows those who are truly His, those who seek His will and hunger for His kingdom. When Jesus comes, everything will be revealed, motives and intentions will be known, and works will be judged. As Christians, let us always ask and allow the Holy Spirit who is the Spirit of truth and revelation to continually searched our hearts to test us whether we are truly in the faith and walking in the truth. Heavenly Father; we ask of you that you teach us to search our hearts that we remain in the truth of your word. Help us to be guided by your Spirit all the time in this world full of trials. Now That’s Love God

I remember going through a season when I really struggled to see an image of a loving God and father. My vision of God was distorted by the lenses of my past brokenness and pain. Instead of seeing a loving father who wanted to get close to me, I saw a God who had many tasks for me to accomplish. Having a wrong view of God ultimately limits how we receive God’s love and how we build a relationship with God. So often, we see God in the mirror of our past relationships. But God is not man. He is a loving God. Not a God who doesn’t know what it is to feel pain, but a God who grieves and yearns to be with you and for you to dwell with Him. I mean, how many people would genuinely die for you? Well, He did. Now that’s Love. How do you view God? Lord, we pray that we see you in the right light, not in a dysfunctional vision of broken relationships. Open our hearts and minds so we can encounter your love and then have the Grace to respond in love. In Jesus’ Name, we pray. Is Christ In You?

We are not Christians just because we claim to be one, because we have an oral profession of faith nor by our regular church attendance and neither by our knowledge of the bible. Satan and his followers can do all these things, but they hate God and rebel against Him. If we genuinely have and possess the Christian life of faith, it is evidenced by a life of obedience and live consistently seeking and hungering for God’s truth, will, and righteousness in our lives. As Jesus says, ” We will know them by their fruits,” meaning we know them because we see God’s work in their lives, changing, disciplining, and moulding them to be Christlike and holy. Sad to say, many who call themselves Christians live in carnality, worldliness, love of this world, disobedience, compromise, and sin. They have no holy fear of God, no evidence of God, nor the work and power of God in sanctification and holy living. They love sin and hate God’s truth, rebuke, and correction. They are hearing God’s word, but it is not profitable for them because their hearts are hardened by unbelief and self-righteousness, and they walk in pride and arrogance. Honestly, my heart is filled with sadness, knowing that many of those who profess to be Christians will soon face God’s judgment and wrath in His coming and will be condemned to suffer in hell throughout eternity. One red flag sign is that they hate preaching about Jesus’s coming and His coming judgment. All they want to hear are words of blessings, prosperity, and how they can have their best life now. There is no conviction of sin nor mourning of sin, in fact they don’t want to be confronted of their sins and hate preaching of sin, righteousness and judgment for it is offensive to them, sadly, they are living in falsehood, lies and self deception.
